Bethlehem continues to reach out to our community to assist and improve the lives of others in a caring and compassionate way. The members of Bethlehem have used their time, talents and gifts to serve through the follow ministries.
KNITTERS AND PRAYERS
SCRAPPERS
This Prayer Shaw ministry provides prayer shawls and scarves for illness, deaths, baptisms, graduations, births and first communions for BLC, family, friends and others in need. Also, clothing, hats, scarves, gloves and blankets are donated to the Oglala Lakota Native American Reservation in South Dakota.
Scrappers make and distributed quilts to adults and children in need at nursing homes, assisted living facilities, early learning centers, Salvation Army, and other non-profit charitable organizations.
GATEWAY
The Gateway House is a residential recovery program for homeless men in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. The Gateway provides transitional housing for a maximum of 24 men. The dinner meals are provided by local churches. Bethlehem provides a dinner meal on the second Thursday six months a year.
ANGEL GIFTS
Bethlehem provided Christmas Angels gifts to children from Yellow Branch Elementary school in Campbell County.
PRAYER BEARS
Colorful stuffed bears offer a warm hug to many children and adults in need of TLC and prayers. These special BLC bears are made by members and children.
BLOODMOBILE
Once a year Bethlehem Church hosts a blood donation drive with the Red Cross. This is open to BLC members and the local community.
YARD SALE
Once a year members and friends of BLC donate useable treasures and items to the annual Yard Sale. The yard sale is open to the local community, family and friends.
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
BLC volunteers fill Christmas Shoe Boxes with school supplies, food, clothing and toys to children from many different countries.
